to their fellow Service Men and Women. This commitment can always be seen through the various programs, initiatives and support systems developed to build “Morale, Welfare & Recreation” for the dedicated DC National Guard Service Members and for DC National Guard Family Members as well.

In recognition of the nation’s celebration of Women’s History Month 2016, The District of Columbia National Guard MWR and Unity Thunder Car Club became proud Community Partners with Women Veterans ROCK! and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as they hosted their 7th Annual Military Benefit Car Show. This year’s theme is “Saluting Women Veterans.”

The Benefits Car Show is a special event that celebrates classic vehicular Americana by showcasing a variety of vehicles including classic, custom, street rods, imports and motorcycles. This show presented a unique opportunity to share the passion for classic cars and honor Women Veterans too.

The Unity Thunder Car Club has a storied history of supporting charitable service organizations like Women Veterans ROCK! They participate yearly in the “Stuff-A-Truck” campaign with News Fox 5 and the Annual Winter Coat Drive with WHUR Radio. Their community outreach history includes: their generous support as host of the “Friday Night Cruise-In” at The Boulevard at Capital Center; often presenting educational scholarships; and providing “Back To School Supplies Drives” for regional residents.

In commemoration of Women’s History Month 2016, Women Veterans ROCK! has been selected as the Newest Community Partners to The District of Columbia National Guard MWR.
